The 5-year-old girl who went missing in Italy was killed by her mother
Elena Del Pozzo, the five-year-old girl who went missing in Catania on Monday and caused a stir in the Italian media was killed by her mother.
Martina Patti, 23 years old, after "pressure exerted during the interrogation" by the investigators, confessed to the carabinieri and the lawyer that he had killed her daughter, but did not say how and why she had committed the crime.
The 23-year-old initially staged a kidnapping to hide the crime.
The father and mother of the child had not been together for some time. The man was arrested for robbery in 2020, but was later acquitted. After the news, he went in despair, with his new partner, to the place where the body was found, 400 meters away from the house where the couple lived before they separated.
