Diklen Vata, 30 years old, Besmir Hoxha and Brilant Martinaj were left dead after the assassination attempt on the Fushë Kruja overpass.
The car in which the three victims were traveling was attacked with a gun by another moving vehicle. According to the police, 50 shots were fired at their vehicle. Diklem Vata, a passenger, managed to get out of the car, but did not survive the injuries received from the bullets, while the other two victims were burned in the car.
There were no security cameras at the scene or nearby businesses.
According to the first information, Diklen Vata had a criminal record. In 2017, he was convicted for drugs. Meanwhile, Brilant Martinaj was wanted by the police after being accused of two murders.
A few minutes after the incident, a Volkswagen Passat was found burning around the crime scene. It is suspected to be the car used by the assassins.
