Let the government call to mind! Mayors refuse to meet with Albin Kurti, what happened
The Board of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities has decided that the mayors refuse to participate in today's meeting, requested by Prime Minister Albin Kurti. According to Board members, the ministries did not respond to requests made by mayors and that the government arbitrarily removed a representative of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities from the Pandemic Management Committee.
In the announcement published by the Board of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, the government of Albin Kurti is called to call to mind!
"The board estimates that this action would make the government call on the mind to treat mayors more seriously in making decisions that affect municipalities."
During the meeting of the Committee for Coordination and assessment of the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia said that due to the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, the number of infected has increased 20-fold.
According to him, the data came from the German Robert Koch Institute, where the Kosovo authorities sent samples on August 16 for analysis.
While the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti asked the members of this committee, which was created to oversee the measures, to be strict in controlling compliance with the measures.
On August 30, the Government of Kosovo established the Committee for Coordination and Assessment of the Pandemic Situation. This committee is composed of over 20 Kosovo institutions represented by one member and chaired by the Minister of Health, Arben Vitia. Prime Minister Kurti has asked this community to submit a daily report on the state of the pandemic, until September 13, when the new pandemic measures end.
