Prishtina prohibits the use of electric scooters and bicycles in public spaces

Prishtina has banned the use of scooters, motorbikes and electric bicycles in the squares and public spaces of the capital where there is an influx of pedestrians. The mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, announced the decision through a post on Facebook.

The new rule will come into effect on August 15. The price of oil and gasoline is said to have forced many citizens in Pristina to look for alternatives such as scooters and bicycles.

"We have banned the circulation of scooters, bicycles and all electric motor vehicles in the squares and public spaces of the capital, in which there is a high frequency of pedestrians. This ordinance will enter into force from Monday, August 15, 2022, until the voting and publication of the regulation in which we are working to ensure the smooth flow of the circulation of these tools in terms of the safety of the citizens of Pristina", wrote Rama .
