Boxes are counted in Kosovo. 21 municipalities in the runoff, vote again
Kosovo held local elections yesterday and today 99.8% of the ballots were counted. According to the Central Election Commission, out of 1 million 885 thousand 448 people with the right to vote, 779 thousand 960 citizens voted.
However, the citizens of 21 municipalities have to go to the ballot box again as they are in the runoff.
The other 17 municipalities have elected mayors.
The Serbian list received nine municipalities out of 10 in which it competed. The second is the Democratic Party of Kosovo which in these elections won without a runoff in Skenderaj, Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Kaçanik and Hani i Elezit.
The third is the Democratic League of Kosovo, which won in Peja and Lipjan, while as many municipalities as the LDK have the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, which managed to retain power in Suhareka and Deçan.
Whereas, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, which governs Kosovo, has not managed to maintain any municipality that it led.
