The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Hristijan Mickoski, has asked for a public apology for the incident at the Skopje Airport, which involved the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.

After the meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at a press conference, Mickoski said:

"We are sorry that such a thing happened. I expect that next time, Osmani will inform me about her trip, even a private one, so that I can go to the airport and wait for her in a friendly manner".

As for bringing security to the international airport of Skopje, North Macedonia will solve it with local institutions.

And Kurti said:

"It was a difficult experience for President Osmani on August 1, especially since he was with two little girls. The authorities of North Macedonia, the heads of state here have expressed regret for the case. There will be an official report that will clarify this matter, and we will understand what happened and never repeat such a situation".

Vjosa Osmani, on August 2, an attempt was made to take his personal phone by a member of the Skopje Airport security, in violation of international practices and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
