All those who live up to 30 km away from the border between Kosovo and Albania will be able to travel freely to the border. The agreement entered into force in the last few hours. About 200,000 citizens of Kosovo and Albania benefit from this agreement between the two countries.

Free movement of citizens in cross-border areas between Kosovo and Albania is enabled

The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Albania have signed the Implementation Protocol of the Government Agreement on the Local Traffic Regime in the Border Areas, enabling and implementing the free movement of citizens living in the border areas, in 26 special border crossings.

As of today, over 200,000 citizens of Kosovo and Albania who live in areas up to 30 km from the land border have the right to cross the border freely and stay in the border area, for social, cultural, family reasons, etc.

This Agreement further deepens our interstate cooperation and facilitates the interaction of citizens on both sides of the border.
