Escobar: Albin Kurti is sometimes difficult, but remains our partner

Gabriel Escobar, the US envoy for the Western Balkans, has called the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, a partner of the US, although a difficult partner, according to him.

"Mr. Albin Kurti is our partner. Sometimes he is a difficult partner, but he is a partner. Kosovo is a partner. So as we move forward we want to use the good relations we have with Kosovo and the improved relations we have with Serbia to find a way, to find an acceptable and mutually beneficial way so that both [countries] can be part of the European Union", declared Escobar in an interview for the Institute for Politics and Economy of Southeast Europe based in Belgrade.

Escobar made these comments when he was asked about the statement of the American ambassador in Belgrade, Christopher Hill, who this week told VOA that Washington has "some very fundamental problems" with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti.
