A square in Prague will be named 'Skanderbeg'

After the one in Budapest, another square in the Czech Republic, in Prague, will bear the name of the Albanian hero Gjergj Kastriot Skënderbeu, "Skënderbej".

Mayor Veliaj has visited Prague, after the latest decision of the Municipal Council of this city. The news was announced by the mayor Veliaj himself after the meeting with the mayor of Prague Zdenek Hrib.

"It is always a pleasure to meet the mayor of Prague, my friend Zdenek Hrib. Like many capitals of the world, Prague will have a square named "Skanderbeg", in honor of our national hero! Thanks to Zdenek and the Prague City Council for the initiative, "writes Veliaj.

Three months ago, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inaugurated in Budapest together with his counterpart, Gergely Karácsony, the bust of the hero Skanderbeg in the Central Park of the Hungarian capital. The bust, a gift from the Municipality of Tirana for the city of Budapest, was placed in front of the memorial of his contemporary, the hero of Hungary, Janos Huniadi.
