Monitoring even at night so that no one sleeps on the street
The Municipality of Tirana continues to provide shelter and all the necessary conditions in social centers to citizens in street situation or who are in difficulty.
To come to the aid of people in need, the teams of the Municipality monitor even during the night. After identifying such cases, they send them to the Tirana Shelter. It offers accommodation and food.
"It is expected from the psycho-social staff, food is provided, accommodation and the deepest evaluation of the case is made. In cooperation with the community centers, a long-term plan for the integration of the case is developed. The goal is for the cases to receive the necessary services to be reintegrated into the community ", explains the director of the Community Field Center, Aida Isaraj.
During these cold days, the number of people who need shelter in the center is higher, currently there are 28 of them.
"In the field, we monitor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, various reports are received. "There can be more than 5 cases per day, especially in these cold days the number of cases is even greater", says Aida Isaraj for TCH.
Through field groups and citizen reporting, the number of homeless people on the streets has decreased in the last two years.
