Work continues on the New Theater as it is expected that the building's roof will be completed by 2025.
A group of critics, journalists and managers of European theaters visited it closely today.
"The closer we get to the European Union, to what is the "Albania 2030" vision, the more every area should be Europeanized. Even the part of the New Theater, despite the fact that there will always be debates about changes, the changes always provoke a public discussion. In the end we have to make decisions and we have to have theaters like the European Union has, with air conditioning in summer and heating in winter. This means that we are building a theater for the next 100 years, not for the past 100 years", underlined Veliaj.
"We had the opportunity to present the site of the new National Theater to a large group of critics, journalists and theater directors from all over Europe, who have come to Tirana these days to attend the 'showcase' of Albanian and Kosovar theater. It is one of the most important, perhaps the most unique, activities in the history of Albanian theater, for so many people involved in theater to see, appreciate and get to know our culture, of course with the perspective that this visit will return and be translated into co-productions, in participation, in festivals. Albania is entering the process of internationalization of the theater space, with the hope that when the New Theater will be in operation, all this will translate into an extraordinary flow of theater quality" , said Basha.
