The blind woman regains her sight and sees the man for the first time
Sophia Corah's love story looks like something out of a movie.
She woke up one day and her life was never the same. He was not looking at anything.
Despite her condition, she decided not to leave college. Moved to another one that was closer to home as he couldn't walk that far anymore. At home things were different, but as soon as he left her, everything became more difficult.
However, as fate would have it, Sophia met a wonderful man, Christian.
“He really became my family and support system. I was touched by the way he protected me, even though we had just met", she says.
Both worked as teaching assistants in college and began their relationship as friends.
"Christian carried me around campus. He made sure that I ate lunch."
But the most special moment in their life together was when she saw him for the first time.
Her healing process consisted of trying different sets of contact lenses and 2 surgeries.
The first lenses Sophia used didn't work for long, but she was able to see faces for several hours a day. When he first saw Christian's face, he was fascinated.
"He thought I looked ugly because of my reaction. In fact, he was more beautiful than I thought," she says.
They have been married for some time and both work, but in the meantime Sophia is also committed to helping people who suffer from the same problem as her.
