Airbnb removes 59 thousand fake accounts from the platform

Fake accounts have turned out to be a big problem for the company Airbnb, which offers short-term rental apartments, risking a decrease in the number of customers.

The company has said it will start using artificial intelligence to fight fraudsters.

Airbnb said it removed 59,000 fake accounts from the site and disabled another 157,000 accounts from accessing the platform.

Fake accounts and high clearing fees were two of the most common problems cited in company surveys.

The San Francisco-based company has said it has received complaints that Airbnb is no longer as affordable as it once was.

The company's chief executive, Brian Chesky, has said that the new changes have begun to work and that the team is planning to take other measures.
