As many hugs as possible! They can reduce depression and anxiety

A caress or a hug can bring significant benefits to our mental and physical health, according to a new study. The new study published in the journal Nature Human Behavior collected 212 published studies and analyzed 85 studies that included adults and 52 that focused on newborns. The results showed that touch was equally beneficial for mental and physical health, with a greater impact on certain parts of the body. Dr. Elena Hartmann, one of the authors of the study from Essen University Hospital, said: "More consensual contact through touch during our day can help alleviate mental and physical problems."

The researchers concluded that touch was beneficial for both healthy and unhealthy people, although the impact was greater for the latter in terms of mental health benefits. However, touching the head was associated with greater health benefits than touching other parts of the body.
