Brat is a word you've probably seen pretty much everywhere in the last couple of months, and it's now officially the Collins Dictionary's word of the year.
Defined as someone with a "confident, independent and hedonistic attitude", she is inspired by singer Charli XCX.
Collins lexicographers look to social media and other sources to determine which words should be added to their annual list of new words.
Brat is the name of Charli's sixth album, which has been building momentum since its release in June this year, not only through original songs but also remixes.
