After how long do the sweets, chips and hamburgers that I eat today damage the body
3 weeks, that's how long it takes for the body to start being affected by the food it eats.
A study of the University of Milan has made the presentation at the European Society of
Cardiology, London.
In the study, the participants were divided into two groups.
One group was asked to eat foods from a diet rich in saturated or unsaturated fats, while another group ate only healthy foods such as fish, nuts, for 24 days.
In the end, neither group gained weight, but those who ate the saturated fat foods had a marked deterioration in baseline health parameters, and EKGs showed an increased risk of heart disease.
Additionally, this group recorded a 20% increase in the amount of fat stored in the liver, increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes, and saw their cholesterol levels rise by around 10%. Don't forget! All this after only 3 weeks.
