The President dissolves the Parliament in Montenegro, the announcement of early elections is expected

The President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, has dissolved the Parliament and is now expected to announce the date of early parliamentary elections.
The decision to dissolve the Parliament comes three days before the presidential elections, in which Djukanovic is also running.
The government led by Dritan Abazovic was ousted 7 months ago by a motion of no confidence after Abazovic signed the Basic Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church in August 2022.
The new elections to be announced will be the sixth that Montenegro has held since independence in 2006.
