A fashion factory in Tirana opens a nursery for the children of employees

A nursery in the work environment, an innovation that comes to the aid of companies with a high number of employees, is one of the initiatives promoted by the Municipality of Tirana as an aid, not only for business, but also for young mothers. Such a nursery has been opened in the "Mediterrania" fashion house, in the new neighborhood "5 Maji", which has been operating for 27 years in Albania and currently has around 300 employees.
The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, visited the premises of this nursery and said that this is the right investment for any business in Tirana. "I am really very enthusiastic that we are opening the second nursery school with the new concept of cooperation between the municipality and private enterprises. This is the perfect formula because we offer the service of educators, curriculum, menu and food, while private offers the space", said Veliaj.
“The takeaway for all companies is: it may seem like an added expense, but it actually adds productivity. Someone who comes to work late because they have to leave their child at daycare or leaves early because they have to pick up their child before the daycare or kindergarten closes; a young mother must break away during the lunch period to feed the child; a worried parent who needs to take two or three hours off to visit or provide another service; all these are hours which, if collected, are saved when daycare is at the workplace", he explained.
The Mayor also said that such an investment means a positive balance for every company.
"Since we have a company in "5 Maji", which has set this standard, it is also an example for other companies or for directorates and public institutions that can do this. A nursery in the work environment means calmer minds to focus on work, but it also means hours saved to be dedicated to work", emphasized Veliaj.
The opening of the nursery with a capacity of 20 children is intended as a project to increase the number of employees from the company, which aims to increase the staff with 200 young people this year.
