Prime Minister Edi Rama has once again explained the issue of the increase in the price of electricity for those families that consume more than 800 kilowatts per month.

Speaking in an interview in Euronews Albania with the journalist Erla Mëhilli, Rama said that it was not the withdrawal of the government at all, but that there were 2 factors that led to the postponement of this decision by at least a month, which he said does not affect more than 5 % of the population.

"We have not given up. There were two parameters that led us to this conclusion: the increase in rainfall and a significant decrease in consumption as a result of an awareness of the fear of the unknown that has led to saving," said Rama.

"It has nothing to do with pain or fear, but to read it properly," he added.

When asked if he is afraid of a contrary decision of the ERE by the government and who actually sets the price, Rama said that "it is not a matter of setting the price, but of a policy related to the necessity of saving".
