After expelling Berisha's PD from the coalition headed by Ilir Meta, the Central Election Commission has registered the Democratic Party represented by Alibej, as the commanding chairman after Basha's resignation, in the May 14 elections.
The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, said: "For as long as KAS has decided on registration as an electoral subject, the only thing that remains is the application and implementation of this decision. Therefore, we decide on the registration of the electoral subject Democratic Party with vice president Enkelejd Alibeaj under the capacity of the commanding chairman of the party for the May 14 elections."
