President Ilir Meta said after the meeting with the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla that he did not consult with the SP on the date of the elections, but with the representative of the majority in the Assembly because he was 'worried' that the elections could be boycotted by the majority.

"There was no official invitation for any political force for the elections imposed due to vacancies created for various reasons.

Both in the CEC and in the Council of Ministers, I have communicated all the decisions I have taken to these institutions as well as to the Constitutional Court.

There was no invitation for the SP as a party, which would normally be made either to the chairman who has other commitments, or to the deputy chairman.

There was an invitation for consultation with the group leader, Mr. Balla.

It is about 6 units, and in my opinion the main consultation except with the law and official institutions that have returned answers, and I believe that I should give an explanation with Mr. Balla as the representative of the majority in the Assembly. We would not want to have debates especially with the majority.

I said who knows, most do not enter the elections, boycott the elections, but I received assurances from Mr. Balla that this will not happen. So, in short, there was no consultation with the party, but with the chairman of the majority in the Assembly so that there would be no speculation afterwards.

There is no need to consult with the opposition. If I were to consult with the parties I would start it from the hierarchy.

I was only worried that they would be boycotted by the majority. I do not have this problem with the opposition.

The date will be either February 27 or March 6, it will leave time for the elections in 6 municipalities. "
