The issue of turbulence in flights has long been a major concern for both passengers and crew in the aviation industry. Recent studies have shown that the effects of climate change have led to an increase in severe turbulence.

A notable incident involving Singapore Airlines flight SQ308 from London to Singapore resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries as a result of severe turbulence.

Experts have identified various factors that can lead to turbulence in flights, including storms, and strong air currents.

Meanwhile, scientists say climate change is likely to cause more turbulence, invisible to radar.

The study found that the skies have become up to 55% more turbulent compared to four decades ago due to climate change, leading to an increase in severe turbulence. Changing air currents in the jet stream, attributed to warmer air from carbon dioxide emissions, has further intensified turbulence across various flight paths around the world.
