Oklahoma prohibits abortion by law. The only 3 cases when it allows

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt on Wednesday signed into law the toughest ban on abortion in the country, making the state the first to end abortion.

The law enters into force immediately after signing and prohibits all abortions with some exceptions.

"I promised the people of Oklahoma that as governor I would sign every piece of pro-life legislation that would come to my table, and I'm proud to keep that promise today," said Republican Stitt. "From the moment life begins in conception, we as human beings have the responsibility to do everything we can to protect the life of that baby and the life of the mother. "This is what I believe in and this is what most people in Oklahoma believe in."

"The impact will be catastrophic for Oklahoma residents," said Elizabeth Nash, a state policy analyst on abortion rights who supports the Guttmacher Institute.

Republicans have consistently sought to reduce abortion rights.

In which cases will it be allowed?

The only exceptions are when it comes to saving the life of a pregnant woman or if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. Of course even in cases of ectopic pregnancies.
