The 39th president of the United States of America has turned 100 years old.
Jimmy Carter will celebrate his special birthday in the same bungalow he's lived in since the early 1960s in Plains, Georgia.
"Not everyone lives 100 years on this earth, and when someone does, and uses that time to do so much good for so many people, it's worth celebrating," said Jason Carter, the former president's grandson.
Carter served as president from 1977 to 1981. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his work as a global humanitarian in mediating international conflicts.
