The UK government is to ban the use of mobile phones in schools, including during holidays, because they disrupt lessons.
The Ministry of Education says 97 percent of children aged 12 and over have cellphones, and points out the quality of education is better in schools that have banned the use of cellphones.
The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has also called for a ban on mobile phones in schools.
According to reports, 44 percent of parents are concerned about the time their children spend on cell phones. £10 million will be invested in around 700 schools over the next three years to implement the ban.
