On the red carpet, invited local filmmakers, actors, art lovers and personalities of art and culture in the country paraded. The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, as well as the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, were present at the TIFF opening ceremony.
This 21st edition will have film screenings, guests, masterclasses and, of course, a competition, which will produce a winner who travels to the "Oscar", in the short film category.
"A week that should not be missed, from the "Millenium" Cinema, to the "Agimi" Cinema, Artistic High School and Piramida, where 192 long and short films will be shown," Minister Margariti wrote on social networks.
The 21st edition of the Tirana International Film Festival will be held until September 29. After the cocktail, the opening speech was given by the leader and founder of this festival, Agron Domi, in the Millennium cinema. Afterwards, the premiere of the film "Kaymak" directed by Milcho Manchevski, who is personally located in Tirana, was broadcast.
From this film festival, one of the longest running in the country, films are also selected which qualify to compete in the Oscar® and European Film Awards.
