The publisher Arlinda Dudaj has stated that after the publication in Albanian of the "Satanic Verses" of the great writer Salman Rushdie, she received a threatening email.

Rushdie's The Satanic Verses was banned in the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1988, as Muslims considered it blasphemous. But even though Iran's government has long distanced itself from this decision, hatred of Rushdie persists.
