Free screening for early screening for cervical cancer for the 40-50 age group
In the framework of the European Cervical Cancer Awareness Week, the Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu from the health center no. 4 in the capital has called on all women aged 40-50 to go to the health centers for free testing.
"We have performed about 31 thousand HPV tests so far. So over 30 thousand women have been tested. While we have a percentage of women, about 4% who were identified with a positive test, ie who had an indication to go further to the gynecologist and do another examination such as colposcopy or other additional examinations that need to be protected from this cancer and to prevent the consequences ", said Manastirliu.
Minister Manastirliu said that every woman in the age group 40-50 should take this test at least once every 5 years.
"I came right here to the health center no. 4 and I will perform this test myself, since I am in the age group that is affected by the realization of this test. This test is performed in a very fast way and is found in health centers everywhere, so I have an appeal for all women aged 40-50 years. They should not hesitate to take care of themselves first and perform a test which is quite simple. The HPV test is a test that is life-saving, in cases when this test identifies a problem in time, which is further followed by our health system ", said Manastirliu.
