Heavy rains return, IGJEUM predicts floods in these areas
The Institute of Geosciences has forecast a return of rainfall throughout the day today and early next week. It is expected that the precipitation will be concentrated Northwest and South of the Albanian territory.
It is learned that in the regions of Lezha, Berat, Vlora and Gjirokastra there may be rapid floods of small mountain rivers and landslides.
While throughout the territory are expected to increase inflows over the next week that could cause localized floods.
IGJEUM predicts that in urban areas, as a result of high rainfall intensity, localized flood problems may occur, mainly during December 6, 2021.
"According to IGJEUM calculations, during the end of today (Sunday, December 05) and the beginning of next week, intense rains are expected, which will be more concentrated in the north-west and south of the territory. In the regions of Lezha, Berat, Vlora and Gjirokastra there may be rapid flooding of small mountain rivers and landslides. Increased inflows are expected throughout the territory over the coming week that could cause localized flooding. In urban areas almost throughout the territory, due to the high intensity of rainfall, localized flood problems may occur, mainly during December 6, 2021, depending on the condition of the sewers.
