Prime Minister Rama and Minister of Education Ogerta Manastirliu chose the city of Berat to congratulate the students and teachers of the country for the start of the new academic year.
The choice of Berat was not without reason. Together with the mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo, Dr. Kita Sallabanda, Prof. Dhori Kulen of the former student, professor and old leader gathered in the gymnasium redone from the beginning, with modern conditions, Baba Dudë Karbunara.
"Today, Berat is completely different and at this point I have the ease of saying the biggest words because even the opposition represented by Dhori Kule cannot oppose me, that Ervin Demo has given Berat a new impetus and has brought Berat in a very short time, more than has been done in Berat for a long time. Of course, Ervini is a boy from Berat, who so far has felt lucky because he has passed from Dhori's caring hand to mine, so he has received the best from the opposition and from the government in terms of attention, but I want I would like to highlight Ervin's extraordinary work because this school would not have been built and would not be so impressive if it were not for Ervin's vision and persistence to get support from the Ministry of Education and the government, which - I was looking at some of data - in these 11 years there has been more intervention in the school infrastructure either for new constructions or for reconstruction processes than what was intervened, not in the 23 years before we took office, but in nearly 45 years and the work speaks, the facts and the works speak as this building speaks, which is not just a place where there are some classrooms, but it is practically a new center of knowledge and a new community center for Berat, since here are all the things needed for classes of learning, to what is needed in after-school hours, from the classrooms and walls with heavy shadows in mathematics classes, to the spaces for sports and culture and artistic activities", said Prime Minister Rama.
Minister Manastirliu emphasized the best conditions in schools for students, but also for teachers, from training to salary increases.
And the Mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo expressed his pride for the realization of this project very close to his heart and shared a message for students and teachers at the beginning of the school year.
"Baba Duda and then 22 October are the best public buildings in the territory of the Municipality. Better than the Municipality or other institutions and this is significant for me to show the priority we have, which is the future generations".
"My message to Baba Duda's students is to use this building to explore and dream big. Just like this school. To dream about what they want to achieve in their journey and to dream about magical Berat, how this city will continue to transform with their contribution.
My message to teachers is that this infrastructure should make them even more focused on the role, responsibility and privilege they have in shaping future generations. To be at the height of the challenges, so that the changes in methodology and those brought by the new generations themselves, know how to use them to the maximum, so that these students manage to develop their potential", said Demo on this first day of school.
