OSHE and OST demand increase of electricity price for next year

The Energy Distribution Operator and the Transmission System Operator have applied to the Energy Regulatory Authority for a price increase next year. Two decisions for the resumption of the procedure to review the price increase have been published in the Official Gazette.

OSHEE demands an increase in the average energy distribution tariff by 34%. So, from 4.79 lek per kilowatt hour that is currently, to become 6.42 lek per kilowatt hour starting next year.

Citizens and small businesses are excluded from the price increase, as previously stated by the government, as large businesses will be affected, connected to 6, 10 and 20 kilovolts, as well as those at 35 kilovolts, which are mainly industries.

While the Transmission System Operator proposes an increase of the average energy transmission tariff by 96%. So, from 0.75 ALL per kilowatt hour that is currently, to 1.54 ALL per kilowatt hour starting from next year and for a 3-year regulatory period, 2022-2024, an average transmission tariff of 1.47 ALL per kilowatt hour.

The board of the Energy Regulatory Authority is now expected to make the decision within December.
