On January 17, new 500 and 2000 lek banknotes will be launched on the market

During his speech, Sejko also said that the continuous rise in prices jeopardizes the rise in inflation in the country and that rising prices will be until at least in the second half of the new year, after which they will undergo reductions.

"The analysis of available information shows the continuation of the recovery of economic activity in the country, the improvement of labor market indicators, but also a rapid rise in inflation over the past two months. Rising oil, energy and food prices in world market, has begun to be reflected - directly and indirectly - in the prices of consumer goods in the country. These shocks are created by a temporary imbalance of supply and demand. In these circumstances, their effect will be present and "during the first half of next year, but - further - it will come down to reduction."
