By train from Durrës to Prishtina, what else does the Reconstruction of Corridor 8 provide

The construction of Corridor 8 remains an important objective for the Albanian government, as an opportunity that will further increase exchanges between countries in the region.
While participating in the high-level roundtable on transport developed in Pristina, Minister of Transport Belinda Balluku stressed that part of this corridor is the railway network from Durres to northern Macedonia.
"Our main strategic objectives in this regard is the requalification and reconstruction of Corridor 8 according to European standards for railway and road infrastructure. In our case, the connection of Corridor 8 from Durrës to the border with Northern Macedonia is part of a comprehensive network, while the road of Corridor 8 from Elbasan to the border with northern Albania is part of the core network, as you know this important multimodal corridor does not was included in the main EU economic and infrastructure investment plan for the Western Balkans ”.
Another project that the Albanian government has announced as a priority is the construction of the Durrës-Prishtina railway.
"The construction of the railway line from Durrës to Pristina, which is of special importance for Albania but also for Kosovo, will be a connection which will undergo rapid development of passengers and goods first between Albania and Kosovo and then for the needs of countries. of the Western Balkans and beyond ”.
It was underlined at the High-Level Transport Conference that the war in Ukraine is showing how important the connection of Corridor 8 from the Adriatic to the Black Sea remains.
