Zelensky appears for the first time with his wife since the Russian occupation of Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena Zelenskaya have appeared together in public for the first time since the start of the war in Ukraine.
The couple attended the funeral of former president Leonid Kravchuki, the first man to lead independent Ukraine since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. He died over the weekend at the age of 88 after a long illness.
Dressed in black instead of the camouflage uniform, which has become a brand in the last three months, Zelensky walked next to his wife, who was also dressed in black.
Olena's public appearance with her husband comes a month after she discovered she had only been heard from on the phone since the start of the war. She then feared that reuniting with her husband would put her and their children at risk.
