Johnson precedes expulsion from parliament by resigning himself, due to "partygate"

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has resigned as a legislator. The cause is what was called "partygate", a series of government holidays that broke the rules during the pandemic.
He left with scathing accusations against his political opponents and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, which could lead to tensions within the Conservative Party.
Johnson accused them of trying to oust him and hinted that his political career is far from over.
"It is very sad that I am leaving Parliament, at least for now," he said.
Johnson made the decision to resign after receiving a letter from the parliamentary committee that had investigated him, which announced that the procedure of expulsion from parliament will begin against him due to "partygate".
"Their goal from the beginning has been to convict me, regardless of the facts," Johnson said.
