Travel Fest Albania opens its doors to 128 films from around the world

The international film festival Travel Fest Albania opened its first edition on Monday at the Artificial Lake Amphitheater with the participation of artists from all over the world.

This festival, the first of its kind in Albania, focuses on nature, environment and tourism and a special film genre. Participating films focus on sustainable development and nature tourism, exploring the most innovative audiovisual trends in the tourism and travel experience around the world.

The Municipality of Tirana, the Ministry of Tourism and the Delegation of the EU in Tirana support the festival. Present at the opening ceremony, the deputy mayor of the municipality Andi Seferi and Hubert Perr from the EU delegation appreciated the initiative in promoting Albania in the world and as part of the activism in the protection of the environment and nature.

While the Minister of Tourism, Mirela Kumbaro, in a post on Facebook, describes the festival as a union of art with tourism and the environment.

The winners will be announced at a special ceremony on the last day of the festival on July 24, 2022. The authors present will have the opportunity to visit some of the tourist spots in Tirana for an unforgettable experience including tours, gastronomic tastings, exhibitions, visits in museums, cultural shows, etc.

The festival will be held from July 18 to 24, where 128 films on tourism and the environment from 42 countries will be shown. You can see the movies at the Millenium Cinema and the "Ten" Multifunctional Center and the Rinia Park Amphitheater.

The categories of the films in the competition are diverse from the theme of nature, wildlife, mountaineering, landscape, environment and ecology, underwater world, biodiversity, flora, extreme sports and adventures, historical places, heritage, expeditions and travel, food and drinks etc. .

Director of the Festival Pandeli Çeço says that the special feature of this festival is the way they shoot, as the directors do not sit in armchairs on a shooting stage, but shoot in nature, sometimes even in difficult or dangerous conditions.

The jury of the festival consists of professionals in the fields of cinematography, art, tourism, journalism and well-known names of international organizations active in tourism and the environment: Ema Andrea - chairman, Lendita Zeqiraj (Kosovo), Dejan Petrović (Serbia), Lutfi Dervishi, Clara García Parra (Spain), Roden Hoxha, Erjon Uka, Elias Mazloum (Lebanon), Beti Njuma and Gjergj Bojaxhi.
