The painter Ali Oseku, one of the most influential artists in the world of visual art, has passed away.
Ali Oseku was born in Tirana in 1944. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana in 1969. After a three-year experience as a scenographer and costume designer at the Opera and Ballet Theatre, he was sentenced to two years of re-education. Then, he spent four years in the notorious Spač prison. The communist regime forbade him to create and display his artwork.
However, Oseku came back even stronger, confirming that nothing can stop an artist. His creative space allowed him to be free and boundless, real and fluid, cosmic and unreal. In his works, he escapes reality to expose an intimate and poetic reality. The dream quest game entertains him like a child.
