'Everything you have', the Albanian thriller that is keeping the readers stuck
In the promotion activity of his latest book, "Everything you have", organized in collaboration with the National Center for Books and Reading, at the NEW Installation, the author Enkelejd Lamaj, discussed the novel, the beauties and the difficulties of writing, as and his literary challenges.
"Everything you have" is a thriller novel, by those who will haunt you long after you have finished reading. The details of the author's physical sensations and wonderful imagination, throughout the pages of the novel, are full of terror and fear. Parts of the book are extremely shocking, but the author moves through these territories as if he were at home, and the reader follows him, step by step, as if he were at home ... but at night, with the lights off and a sharp blade, hovering in the air, ready to shoot, lo and behold.
Adelina Hoxhaj is a writer. Sidorela Eljezi is a journalist. The first has a problem, which puts her in a situation from which she does not know how and from whom to escape. The second has an ambition. Among them, the statistics do not lie: Tirana has never had a serial killer before. NOW. They call him the Black Butterfly and he is an unscrupulous killer, who enters the houses of the victims and massacres them, mutilating them in cruel ways. But ... he is not content with just that. He does not leave the dead alone either. His signature: a black butterfly fixed to the nail, right on the victim's neck. And, as fear and terror sit cross-legged over the capital, a series of revelations, step by step, will raise suspicion that the killer could be ANYONE. And it may be much closer than you might think. To find him and to stop him,
"Everything You Have" is a clever novel, which almost creates a physical pain under the skin. The main characters are, seemingly simple, but, in fact, they are complicated and completely fascinating. Lamaj writes with precise sentences, which are collected and poured into an ever-evolving environment. Older readers will welcome this novel, which despite belonging to the thriller genre, does not abandon at all the elements of horror, which wander in the atmosphere of almost all the events of the novel, with all their beauties and brutality, as well as Enkelejd Lamaj knows how to confess.
