From October 31 to November 5, the American Film Market took place in Los Angeles, where professionals from all over the world participated. In the place where cinematography takes on a different life, where the most important events of this industry have taken place - exactly in Hollywood! – Tirana Film Office, as part of the Creative Industry Agency (Agency under the Municipality of Tirana) was present throughout the days of the market.
“Meetings with American and Asian producers were what stood out from TFO's participation in the American Film Market. The promotion of Tirana as an ideal location for filming came as a proposal that attracted the maximum attention of film producers and young directors, who saw the capital from a different perspective. TFO representatives simultaneously introduced film professionals to everything that the local industry has to offer: from the capacities of film crews to the opportunities offered by production studios. The creation of the Film Office came almost two years ago as an idea of the Mayor, Erion Veliaj, to make Tirana more popular and accessible in the international cinematographic market, and at the same time to show the best of the capital through the film route. . This is a sector which comes as an added value for the Municipality of Tirana and promotional strategies beyond the borders", emphasizes Jonid Jorigji, director of the Creative Industry Agency in the Municipality of Tirana.
Besides the exchange of experiences in film production, TFO representatives were invited to the studio of Warner Bros. Pictures, where the possibility of cooperation for future projects was further discussed, thus seeing Albania as a possible film location. The entire American Film Market experience, together with many of the main participants in AFM will be present at the most important cinematographic event, Balkan Film Market. The latter will be held in Tirana on December 13-17, bringing this time a different spirit in terms of cooperation and exchange of experience for audiovisual professionals.
"The promotion of the capital in terms of cinematography is always in the center of attention for Tirana Film Office, not only in Europe, but everywhere where the film industry is at its best. One thing is certain: very soon we will see Tirana as a new image in different films", said Jonid Jorgji from the Creative Industry Agency.
