Today, Ilir Meta may become the first dismissed President in Albania
The Assembly session today started with the presentation of the report on constitutional violations allegedly committed by President Ilir Meta.
The Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry, Alket Hyseni before starting the presentation said that it is a voluminous report which is published in full in the Official Gazette and of course was sent to the President.
After the presentation of the report, how many votes does it take to dismiss Meta?
According to Article 88 of the Constitution, it is required that the dismissal of the President of the Republic receive at least 94 votes or 2/3 of all deputies. But the Socialist Party does not have these votes and will have to be supported by other MPs.
If this happens today, Ilir Meta could become the first President ever fired in the history of the Albanian state.
