How the new compulsory motor insurance rates will be calculated
The behavior of drivers on the road will affect the price of car insurance. If they cause damage, they will pay up to twice today's value.
Car insurance policies will not be priced the same for everyone. From January 2025, they will be calculated, based on several factors, related to the age and type of vehicle, but also on the driver's behavior on the road.
For documented accidents, the fee will be higher, and with the implementation of the bonus-malus system, drivers will be divided into 18 different categories, each of which has a coefficient.
For the first class, the coefficient is 0.5, while for the 18th class it goes to 2. According to this system, it is foreseen that all drivers, as well as new drivers, are first registered in the 13th class, or as it is otherwise known, the entry class .
For classes from 1 to 12, the coefficient will decrease, while for classes from 14 to 18 it will increase.
So, if the insurance today is 16,000 ALL, and a driver does not cause damage during the year, he goes to the 12th grade to pay 15,040 ALL next year. But, after one accident he moves to class 15 and with the coefficient 1.3, he will pay 20,800 ALL or 4,800 ALL more, while with two or more accidents he will pay double the price.
