Albania can block TikTok, but which countries have closed it so far
Based on the tragic event where a peer killed his schoolmate, Martin Canin, 14 years old, and then posted the knife on social networks as a sign of victory, Prime Minister Rama stated yesterday that they are considering closing TikTok and SnapChat in Albania.
If this decision were to be taken, Albania would not be the only country to do so.
There is a long list of countries that have blocked TikTok for various reasons, from allegations of data theft, lack of filters for inappropriate images, to the addiction it creates through short videos or the influence through negative examples it promotes. .
Below are all the states that have banned it so far. Some do not allow it in the whole country, others only for the public administration:
US
On March 13 this year, the House of Representatives passed a law requiring TikTok's Beijing-based parent company to leave the platform or face a nationwide ban.

On March 24, the French government banned the installation and use of apps like TikTok, Netflix and Instagram on the work phones of 2.5 million civil servants.
Australia
On April 4, Australia banned TikTok from all devices owned by the federal government due to security concerns.
Estonia
In late March, Estonia's outgoing IT and Foreign Trade Minister Kristjan Jarvan announced that TikTok would be banned from state-provided phones for public officials.
Netherlands
The Dutch Ministry of the Interior has discouraged the use of all apps from countries with an aggressive cyber program.
Other countries that have banned it for work phones are: Norway, Belgium, Denmark, Canada, New Zealand and Great Britain.
