Protests erupt over murder of 23-year-old Sabrina by ex-husband: Better a poor horse than no horse at all
Citizens and activists have held protests in Tirana and Fier over the murder of Sabrina Bengaj by her ex-husband.
The protest in Tirana is taking place in front of the Ministry of Interior and justice is sought for the murder of the 23-year-old who left behind a little 3-year-old girl.
With placards in their hands holding messages such as "Better divide than kill", citizens demand the punishment of violent men and greater support for women and girls.
Sabrina Bengaj was killed on Friday evening at the house of her parents Zhupan in Fier. Relatives testified that she was eating dinner while her ex-husband Elton Metaj entered the house with a firearm and shot at her, leaving her dead.
