Rector of the Medical University calls for vaccination against COVID: it is the strongest weapon to face the pandemic
Rector of the University of Medicine Arben Gjata has called on Albanian citizens to receive the vaccine against COVID-19, as the best weapon to fight the virus. He said that we have before the winter, which will increase the numbers and worsen the epidemiological situation in the country.
From "Information Radar", Gjata said that more than 90% of the students of the Faculty of Medicine have received the anti-COVID vaccine.
"As far as the medical faculty is concerned, over 90% of the medical students have been vaccinated, the rest have passed. This comes as a result of what they will be doctors of the future and I do not know doctors who have not been vaccinated. Our students are the most at risk of all. "From the moment the free vaccination took place, the university, even though we did not have the students in the auditorium, sent emails and made many efforts convincing them to be vaccinated and when the school started, most of the students were vaccinated", said Gjata in Radar.
Moreover, Gjata stressed that there have been no infected students so far in the Faculty of Medicine thanks to vaccination.
"Until now, we have not had any cases of students affected by COVID at the medical university since the beginning of the new academic year. We have taken measures, but it is also dedicated to a very high% of vaccinated people ".
