Record number of tourists in August, 56% more compared to a year ago

Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that more than 56% of passengers entered the Rinas airport for the January-August period, compared to a year ago.

Edi Rama's post:

Albania does not stop at increasing the number of tourists and Rinas in August exceeded all optimistic forecasts, with 1 million and 251,467 passengers or 368,456 (41%) more than last August

The January-August 2024 balance reaches 7 million and 233,711 passengers who entered Rinas alone, where in the same period last year their number was 4 million and 606,805. This balance speaks of 56% growth in the current year

This year's novelty is nearly 4 thousand passengers from Japan, another 4 thousand from New Zealand, almost 20 thousand from Australia and 35 thousand from Canada

Those who comment that we need tourists, should consider that all these millions of people spend money in Albania to sleep, eat, travel, buy gifts and all this money does not go to some "oligarchs". , as some frowning knights of the war with the government put it short, are pouring into the coffers of the family budgets of tens of thousands of rented rooms, of thousands of hospitality structures in the four corners of Albania, of thousands and thousands of service units and small businesses.

Undoubtedly, a part of them also go in the form of taxes to the state budget coffers for further investments and for significantly increased salaries, and it is no accident that the government is not yet intervening to tax, as everywhere in Europe, the large growing volume of rooms data for rent, because we want all Albanians to experience not only the benefits of this epochal change in the tourism sector, but also to understand with facts how many opportunities there are still in Tourist Albania for those who live here, both for those who are still reluctant to return, and for those who have made up their minds not to return but have a golden time to invest their savings in Albania.
