Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted for the first time to the tragic murder of the 14-year-old in Tirana.
After the end of the government meeting, Rama declared the dilemma to close the TikTok and SnapChap applications in Albania.
"For three days, big and small have been shocked by the macabre murder of a 14-year-old student, the whole dynamic highlights the permanent threat that tik tok or snap chat absorbs daily from the youngest ages. The authority of parents or teachers is challenged every day cast from the parallel world where there is no filter, even mental health is called into question. It is not difficult to agree. Guaranteeing the safety of children is the priority of our priorities protection filters, but to no avail. Austria and France are discussing the opening of an online account for children, but the lack of a system for their implementation remains open. Our dilemma as a government is whether we should try to move in the direction of setting up filters, when in fact their effectiveness is low while the incentives for violence and bullying only increase, or take a drastic measure, for the complete closure of tik tok and snap chat. We will put it up for extensive discussion," said Rama.
