Rama: The law on strategic investments must be changed, not tourist villages

In his speech during the meeting of the SP Assembly, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the current status of strategic investors must change.

He said that there will be no more tourist villages without hotels, while underlining that new constructions will be made based on criteria suitable for tourists.

"The current status of strategic investors must change, the existing framework has fulfilled its mission to stimulate ice-breaking investments, in a country where tourism was soufflé bread, watermelon with cheese. Now that the ice has broken and Albania is no longer the place where you can't even reach with your mind or set foot, an international brand of the tourism industry, the bar must be raised much higher immediately.

Albania must have an optimal offer, which is based on the variety of elections. This is the only way we will strengthen the tourism economic chain. We will stimulate farm production and guarantee new jobs with high wages for our people. And the chapter of tourist villages without hotels, will be declared a closed chapter, In this place will be built much better. The new constructions must meet the new criteria and requirements, in accordance not with the needs of the competition but with the needs of the competition tomorrow" - he said.
