The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, filed a complaint with the SPAK against the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, the former Minister of the Interior, Lulzim Basha and the former commander of the Guard, Ndrea Prendi, as being responsible for the murders of January 21.
According to the published document, Berisha Basha and Ndrea Prendi have been officially charged for the criminal offences: "murder in other qualifying circumstances" and "abuse of duty".
On January 21, 2011, during the opposition protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, four protesters were killed: Ziver Veizi, Faik Myrtaj, Hekuran Deda and Aleks Nika.
The new investigation initiated by the majority is triggered by some new audio evidence published in the media which reveals through radio communication the orders given to the guards to open fire on the protesters.
