Why would it be difficult to have an organized European tourism this summer?
Tourism Minister Blendi Klosi says the dynamics of the coronavirus situation make it a bit difficult to have an organized European tourism this summer. If the rules were known for years, for this season even European countries have not issued a clear plan regarding travel to countries outside the EU, as Albania is currently.
For Euronews, Blendi Klosi said:
There are problems, but the over-problem is the coronavirus. It seems difficult to have an organized European tourism again, EU countries have not yet established their policies in terms of relations with countries outside the European Union.
We have to prepare ourselves and deal with our problems. I do not think there is a set date when the season opens. Albania has 12 months of the year opportunities for tourism. I know that the municipality of Vlora starts next week the activity for the opening of tourism. But hard to say officially.
I do not know how the pandemic will go, we still have a time limit from the Committee of Experts and rules in force. What happens on the beach this year has not yet been defined. Vaccination continues at a rapid pace, the number of infections has decreased, this will help us to have tourism as we hope.
