Parents of "Fan Noli" students warn of another protest on Monday and present their demands

Parents and citizens gathered this morning at the "Fan Noli" school, almost a week after the murder of 14-year-old Martin Cani by his peer. They have announced a protest for Monday afternoon, at 5:00 p.m. and present a series of demands.
"Dear citizens, we parents who have children in Tirana's schools held a protest march after the murder of 14-year-old Martin Cani. We articulated some demands for the responsible institutions. We asked for the resignation of the Minister of Education, it would create a precedent and a model of accountability. It would open a path towards the solution of this great drama. We had entrusted the education of our dearest to this ministry, this school. For Martin and our children, this minister has only ridicule and arrogance.
For this and other points, we will be in front of the Ministry of Education on Monday at 17:00 to say that we do not tolerate what happened.
The requests we have touch on some of the main issues facing schools today.
Completion of the budget, the increase of schools with psychologists, the stay of students in the school premises until 16:00. Emergency application for the removal of phones during the lesson. Every school should have a security officer. Creation of a system with all links for reporting. Immediate resignation of the Minister of Education. It is not our whims, but a necessity. We, as parents and citizens of this country, pledge not to leave the square until the demands are met. We will also consider boycotting the lesson. Calling all citizens to join the protests. We must be for Martin, for the children, for the country. we owe it to our children", declared Qiraxhi, one of the parents.
